Hypnotherapy Explained

FYI hypnotherapy does not involve a swinging pocket watch or encouraging people to cluck like a chicken. Hypnotherapy is NOT Stage hypnosis. 

Hypnotherapy involves you gently sinking into a deep relaxation with heightened awareness, while in this state we then work to communicate with the subconscious mind.

During hypnosis, Rapid Eye Movement (REM) is experienced.

You may already be familiar with REM, the often-discussed stage of sleep characterised by rapid saccadic movements of the eyes and the experience of dreams. 

While in this dream state, our brain is almost as active as it is when we are awake, but our nervous system is asleep. Once in this dream-like state, your overactive conscious mind is put in the passenger seat and your subconscious mind in the driver’s seat. In this state you are much more sensitive to suggestion, however, you are fully aware of your surroundings and therefore cannot be coerced into doing anything against your will.

Experiences of hypnotherapy can vary slightly and that’s absolutely normal. I will gently guide you through the experience and you’re always in control and responding to me throughout the session. 

Depending on how deep into hypnosis you go and personal differences, most clients remember the whole session quite accurately.

What’s the difference between an RTT and a hypnotherapy session?

Both an RTT session and a hypnotherapy session start and end the same way. 

In an RTT session I use range of psychotherapy interventions to heal your inner child and reframe beliefs, attachments and interpretations. It’s a multi-layered approach to really interrupt and transform your internal programming and external world. 

Following RTT, I also provide a Personalised Transformational Audio to create a new neural pathway in your brain that reinforces the beliefs and thoughts you want to strengthen. 

I highly recommend using hypnotherapy sessions following RTT as maintenance therapy, this helps to reinforce and support your healing and transformation journey.
